Trish McEvoy Brush Review
So many of our artists use the Trish McEvoy brushes, go on and on about how much they love them, and claim they are the best there are. I haven’t bought new brushes in a long time, I take good care of the ones I have so I have (my favorite specials are NARS and the bulk are MAC ) and as anything when it comes to beauty, my cup runneth over and I really didn’t need anymore.
But, also, as in anything in beauty, I wanted to try them because my ladies looooove them. And if they looooove them then I want to know what the fuss is about.
And I mean they are so pretty, no? I love that they are elegant lucite luxuriousness and not boring black.
So I bought a handful. The eye blending, the precision smudge, the tapered blending, a powder brush, and the bronzer brush (though I chose this to use for my blush brush because it’s small for focused but blendable color). And it’s confirmed I do love them too. I love the density of them, they way the bristles are packed perfectly for each varied use. I’d say that the powder brush is my favorite though. I’ve never had such a luxurious version that does such a wonderful job at both applying enough powder to set your makeup but not having the type of bristles that in turn take your freshly applied makeup off in the process.
The lucite handles which were pure fancy in the beginning actually do have a practical side (though practical for the purely Type-A’s). Because Trish McEvoy is known for both for her brushes and for her makeup planner system, the brushes are made with petite handles so they can fit within her planners. I LOVE THEIR SIZE! I always get annoyed with super-duper long handled makeup brushes that dictate what adorable little makeup case I’d like to pare down to. Also, the handles are slightly varied in shape and dimension so when you’re rifling through your bag looking for your powder brush vs. your blush it’s easier to find. Small things but I enjoy them, I do.
So, bottom line. If you’ve never splurged on nice brushes, do it. Buy these. If you’re missing crucial one, get yourself a pretty new lucite friend. They’re nice.

I’ve just recently discovered makeup brushes (I’m not makeup savvy at all)! Since I’m experimenting with makeup, might as well get the right tools. Loving the lucite and planner! Thanks for the recommendation xx
